Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Early Broadway performances are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The role she played in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress as well as director, has spent the bulk of her professional career working alongside well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford is set to appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who created Hamilton directed the production. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first significant part. She also appeared in the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford is an Denver native who now divides her time in Los Angeles.
